TaylorMade SLDR – prototype driver

taylormade sldr 2

This week TaylorMade debuted a special new prototype driver on the PGA and European Tours for initial testing with TaylorMade Tour Staff professionals from around the world at the John Deere Classic and the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open.

I may be wrong, but I’m guessing that SLDR stands for ‘slider’ and that the blue widget on the sole can be moved across the dial to give the club a draw through to a fade.

The rules of golf state that you cannot change the setting between shots, once you have it set up on the 1st tee, it has to stay like that for the remainder of the round. So if you want to play around with the options on the range, make sure that you put it back to your normal setting before your round commence.

TaylorMade have released an exclusive, insider-only gallery of images from the Tour trucks in the United States and Europe as the drivers were unboxed in preparation for building and testing.
